"I see Dumb people"

I see "Dumb People" every day.

I know, I handle collision claims.

It's just that the stupidity seems to happen more often and is predictable and I'm not talkin about the stuff I see with collision claims.

Let me give you an example.

I recently ran an Ad on Craigslist to sell some 20" custom rims that are NEW and that also have NEW tires on them. In the Ad I mentioned that these new tires only have about 1000 miles driven on them. I also mentioned that I'm into them for about $2000 and I'm only asking $1250. I also mentioned that I would accept cash offers for as low as $1000.

I got responses like:

A) "Do you really want to sell them?"

B) "What's your lowest price?"

C) "How much tread is left?"

D) "Is the item still available?"

Ok, I get very pissed when I have to answer idiot questions. Here's my dilema, If these are real potential customers, I can't let them know that they are an idiot! I have to somehow hold back my rage & sarcasm and answer these freakin people in a nice way because if I don't, they won't open their wallets.

Here is how I answered these idiots (people).

A) "No, I really never intended on selling them. I posted the Ad as a joke for my own personal entertainment."

B) "My lowest price, is the most you will give that meets my lowest price listed in the Ad."

C) "Let's see, If the average tire lasts for 40,000 miles and you drive 1000 miles on them (like I mentioned in the Ad), you would have about 39,000 miles of tread left."

D) "Yes, my item is still available. Hopefully the next time we communicate you will know what it is that you are inquiring about."

These questions are real and so were the answers to those people.

I may have a very tough time trying to survive in this world.

I have not yet sold the wheels.

I see more Dumb People...

Example 2:

I also listed a car for sale that needs a little TLC (Oh God, I'm set'n someone up) Tender-Loving-Care (T-L-C).

Ok, the Ad lists this nice Acura Legend Coupe. 5 speed, leather, loaded, no body damage ever, clean title. In big letters it says DOES NOT RUN. It needs a timing belt and will need to be towed. Again, the Ad says I'm asking $1250 or Best Offer over $1000 and CASH ONLY.

I have had several people call on the car.

The first thing they ask is DOES IT RUN?

I'm like, WTF!? (don't be an idiot and ask me about w-t-f )

Still haven't sold the car either.

I swear, If I ran an Ad for FREE kittens, they would ask...

"Do you really want to sell them?"

"What's your lowest price?"

"How many lives do they have left?"

"Is your item still available?"

You know, I was always curious what WTF meant.

Also, a person who lives in a glass house should not throw stones, as some stones may return to his glass house in a rapid and shattering manner.

Then again...with all the Idiot drivers out there who have no idea what a safe following distance is, or don't realize a SEMI can not stop in 10 feet or less....

Okay, your right, there ARE stupid out there. God please help us! (Ducking for the return fire.)

I sometimes wonder, only for a split second or so, how do stupid people survive. And there are so many of them...
